Bahir Dar University EiTEX Successfully Conducted the 9th International Conference
The Ethiopian Institute of Textile and Fashion Technology-EiTEX organized and hosted the 9th international conference on Cotton, Textile, and Apparel Value Chain in Africa (CTA-2021) on May 21st and 22nd, 2021. This conference is held for the ninth successive years which have brought several individuals and stakeholders in the sector from different companies, academic institutes, government, and non-governmental representatives in the sector to share their knowledge and experience in addition to discussing the applications of new technologies.
Ethiopian Textile Industry Development Institute General Director, Mr. Sileshi Lema; Ambassador of Bangladesh in Ethiopia, Md Nazrul Islam; Advisor of Ethiopian Job Creation commission commissioner; Leather Industry Development Institute Deputy General director; Advisory Board Chairperson of EiTEX and BiT, Mr. Brihane Hailu; Vice president for Research and Community Services of Bahir Dar University, Dr.Tesfaye Shiferaw; and EiTEX Scientific Director, Dr. Abera Kechi have addressed their messages to the participants.
Senior Professor Daniel Kitaw from Addis Ababa University give a motivational keynote speech and a closing remark.
The conference participants also visited an exhibition in Selam Campus organized by EiTEX students and invited participants.
About 21 oral presentations and 25 poster presentations of research work were presented at the conference, and very creative fashion design product developed by students plus a new fashion hall leads to a miracle fashion show event.
Finally, certificates were awarded to the sponsors, presenters, and conference organizing committee members.
