Addis Ababa Science and Technology University and Zero One Zero One Tech-Entrepreneurship PLC sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU)

On January 28, 2022, the Addis Ababa Science and Technology and University (AASTU), represented by Dr. Dereje Engida, AASTU President, and Zero One Zero One Tech-Entrepreneurship PLC (0101-TE), represented by Ms. Kidist Gebreamlak, Chief Executive Officer, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The MoU stipulates a successful framework for future undertakings between the two institutions.

AASTU & 0101-TE will work together to identify and fill the gaps related to Student Career Development and Technology-led Entrepreneurship (Startups).  They will work hand in hand to provide trainings, consulting, and advisory services to guide and support students achieve their career or business goals.

During the ceremony, which took place at the AASTU President’s office, Dr. Dereje Engida highlighted the importance of this partnership in his speech; “We are very pleased to see this MoU in place as it paves the way for great synergy between our two entities, which above all benefits our students at large.” Ms. Kidist Gebreamlak also explained that the MoU brings the best of both institutions to create a fostering environment to prepare students for 21st-century job markets as well as pave the way for student innovators to build sustainable tech-led enterprises.

Prior to signing the MoU, the university president Dr. Dereje and Ms. Kidist along with Dr. Abraham Debebe, Vice President for Research and Technology Transfer has thoroughly discussed on key priorities and methodologies as it fits the University’s vision, mission, and programs.
